What we offer

The Josephine County Historical Society is comprised of a research library and a museum.

The research library is located at 512 SW 5th St (the house next door to the Schmidt House with a parking lot attached). The library contains many documents and books pertaining to the history of the county and Southern Oregon. This building also contains the office and bookstore.

The Schmidt House Museum is located at 508 SW 5th St. This house is unique in that only one family, the Schmidt family, ever lived in it. Much of the house has been restored to its original state and it also features many donations from the area.
